TRANSPORTATION SERVICE



Our Transportation Program serves the needs of older commuters whose transportation needs are not met by traditional services. The service is an escort service. Our drivers are trained to assist you in and out of both your home and the transporting vehicle. Transportation services are available to allow you to get to medical appointments, to go grocery shopping, attend meal programs, senior job placements, Adult Day Care programs and other social service activities and Community Resources. Specialized transportation for those using wheelchairs are available. The "Escort" service is based on a reservation system with clients making reservations for trips one to 14 days in advance. Service is provided with various vehicles and cover all of Clarke County.

Staff
We have been providing Transportation Services since 1979. Our drivers have been through a thorough criminal background check and have had their driving record reviewed. They are trained in CPR and First Aid. In addition, they complete regular inservices training to update their knowledge and skills.

Hours of Service
8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday, excluding agency holidays.

Payment Sources
This program is a mandated service for those over 60 years of age and older. Therefore, there is no direct charge for services but we do accept donations to offset the cost of vehicle operations.
